Rename Your Browser Buttons

Here’s a quick tip to help you gain some extra real estate on your web browser’s toolbar.  You can easily remove any text labels and leave only the web site’s vanity icon (that’s what I call it).  It’s possible to do in all major browsers, as well as the minor ones, I’m sure.

Sometimes I don’t realize that just because something I know, something I’ve done for years, is simple, doesn’t mean that everyone else knows it.  That’s why I plan to make more videos like the this one.  I like to help make people’s lives with their computers easier when I’m able.

View the video below and I hope it helps.

RoboForm Makes Me Happy Again!

roboform makes me happyRoboForm has been a lifesaver for me when working online and dealing with forms and passwords.

I’ve been using RoboForm for about a year now to keep all my passwords safe and accessible, without needing to remember them all (I have a TON!).  It’s been an awesome time saver for that and also allowing me to fill in forms with the click of a button.  As far as keeping all my stuff secure, it’s like a safe!! RoboForm has been one of my most used tools I’ve picked up.

I was an avid Firefox user for a long time, until an update happened that resulted in a bunch of my memory being sucked away.  it rendered my laptop and desktop slow and clunky (I’m sure they’ve resolved the issue now).  I downloaded Chrome and loved the speed.

Up until recently, Roboform has had really terrific support for both Explorer (ick!) and Firefox, but slow in getting anything going for Chrome.  There was a Chrome extension released to help us, but it wasn’t all that terrific.

I just installed RoboForm’s new offering for Chrome and I feel like I’m back in the saddle again!  Woot!  It’s just like RoboForm for Firefox so everything is totally familiar and works great now!  No more forgotten passwords, no more long forms to fill out, and no more being concerned about identity theft!  I’m a  really happy camper today!

Real Scam or Link Bait?

Link Bait is, what I consider to be, a cheap and underhanded technique of getting a blog or web page ranked in the search engines by using targeted keywords often fueled by controversy.  Many people will use this technique to raise their rankings whether the content is truthful or not and that is where it’s wrong.  I’ve seem many solid companies and individuals devastated by link bait.  I think it’s a real shame that some people feel they need to resort to this type of thing to bring attention to their blogs or pages.  They’re obviously not talented enough to work online the honorable way.  Most of the people who do this don’t even know what the subject matter they’re writing about.  It’s all about the traffic and the truth be damned!

The one thing you need to understand about people using link bait is how you may, with all the good intentions in the world, be helping them raise their search engine rankings and getting more traffic to their blog or page.  Here’s some information on what to do and what not to do when it comes to link baiting:
